Photographer Steve Goldenberg captured this brightly colored image on H St. The square frame mimicking the pattern of the colored squares is well, not at all square, it is groovy. [ more › ]

It is hard to believe that photographer *Can'tBuyMeLove* stumbled upon this scene, but according the description of the photo that is exactly what happened. We are thankful he was there, and submitted this image to our flickr pool, because this could be the Holy Grail of dog photos. The scene is so idyllic, that it almost seems unreal, like a fake backdrop in a Glamour Shots portrait studio. But thankfully it is the real thing, and we have it for our viewing pleasure. This photo from Katieforeman2010 is adorable. We are hoping that a little duckling cuteness will brighten your Monday. [ more › ]

It is rare to see an image from Yospyn in the DCist pool these days, but it is so delightful when they pop up. As a long time contributor to our Flickr pool, and frequent Photo of the Day photographer going as far back as 2007 (!), he is one of many of our contributors who have turned their passion for photographyinto a career. Watching this transformation make us very happy, and proud. It is also a reminder that being part of our Flickr community can be the start of some wonderful things! [ more › ]

Of what use is a child if they aren't a good prop in a photo? Either lovedc is making great use of this child actor, or the aliens have taken over and are creating zombie spawn. If it is the later, at least it is an adorable alien spawn. [ more › ]

The King of the Jungle shares a bond of pumpkin love with pie eaters, seasonal latte drinkers, and squirrels everywhere. This really well-composed image from alexandrajones14, is adorable. The juvenile lion in the middle with his tongue out really deserves to be an internet star. [ more › ]

I love when images with strong composition force you to wonder what is going on. This image from pnzr242 is just that type of shot. [ more › ]

Photographers often go to great lengths, and heights, to get a photo. Chris Suspect found this photographer mid-air, and mid-shot. It's doubtful that the resulting photo will be in focus, but it would be interesting to see the result. [ more › ]

This photo, shot from the top of the Netherlands Carillon in Arlington, is a fun use of light and shadow. Taken by igotsidetrackded, the image feels timeless. (EXIF.) [ more › ]

The colorful kayaks at Jack's Boat House make a nice summer rainbow in this photo by Vileinist. This shot is almost enough to make you forget that the body of water is actually the intersex fish-loving Potomac. [ more › ]

Yes, this dog is cute. Yes, this dude is sharing a little too much information. But I really wish this photo from Tedeytan was titled, "Dog Finds Suspicious Package in Dupont Circle." [ more › ]

Furcafe has a keen eye. He took the average pool party scene, watched carefully and captured a hilarious photo. [ more › ]
