In our inaugural edition, we focus on a new program of the Conservatory: a partnership with Charter Theatre to develop new children's theatre pieces using Conservatory graduates as members of the acting company. During rehearsals for the first offering, a musical adaptation of The Princess and the Pea, by Sean Fri and Ray Ficca, we drop in on a rehearsal for a "first listen" at some of the witty new songs being developed and Education Director Hope Lambert spends some time chatting with the cast of The Princess and the Pea and director/writer/Conservatory President Ray Ficca about developing the show and his changing relationships with professional actors who were once his students. For ticket information for The Princess and the Pea, visit www.chartertheatre.org. For more information on The Conservatory, visit www.theconservatory.org. Music in this episode includes original compositions for The Princess and The Pea and music from the Podshow Podsafe Music Network [music.podshow.com].
